In this year, there are many safety accidents in Korea.

Mauna ocean resort collapse
The roof of a resort auditorium collapsed during a welcoming ceremony for freshmen of Busan University of Foreign Studies Monday night, killing at least 11 students and seriously injuring 17 others.
About 80 people were sent to hospitals with minor injuries, according to the official at the state-run National Emergency Management Agency.
Around 5-hundred 60 students from the university had been scheduled to attend a two-day freshmen orientation at the Manua Ocean Resort in the southeastern city of Gyeongju.
It was during the recreation* when the roof of the auditorium started to pot out.
The recent heavy snow and icy roads blocked the rescue operations after the collapse, delaying the arrival of the emergency staff to the site.
Even as we are speaking, the rescue team is still working to pry trapped students from beneath the twisted metals, while the injured are being treated at the local hospital.

Drunk driving

Rapper Gil from the hip hop group Leessang is facing heavy criticism from the public after getting caught for drunken driving yesterday morning.
The 36-year-old performer, whose real name is Gil Sung-joon, was reportedly caught driving while intoxicated in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo District, western Seoul. Mapo Police Precinct told the reporters “Gil drove while drunk for about 500 meters [1,640 feet], but no accidents happened.”
Gil’s driving license was revoked as a result.

Entertainer Noh Hong-chul appeared at Gangnam Police Precinct at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday for questioning about his drunken driving earlier this month.
The driver’s licence of the “Infinite Challenge” star will be suspended for one year, according to the police.
Noh, 35, was caught driving under the influence of alcohol on Nov. 7 in Nonhyeon-dong, southern Seoul.
Noh allegedly told police that he had drunk a little bit of soju, a Korean spirit, and some wine, though his test results showed that he likely had more.
At that time, he refused to take a Breathalyzer test, which police officers typically recommend to suspended drunken drivers. He chose to take a blood test instead.

However, even korean have had serious accidents like these, korean goverment and most of people don't appreciate the importance of safety and don’t try to resolve thier problems.

As you see, first topic is about Mauna resort gym collapse.

As you know BUF's 9 freshmen were dead in this year when they were having a welcome party for the freshmen.

There are three reasons which caused the accident.

Firstly, Mauna didn't used enough bolts to hold together auxiliary pillar and the roof and some materials of a main pillar did not meet government
standards.

Secondly, resort operators did not properly remove snow from the roof, which pillar couldn’t hold up the heavy snows.

Lastly, Rescue workers were hard to get there because of illegal parking by reporters' cars.

Our second topic is drunk driving. Also, drunk driving is kind of safety frigidity.

Even if drivers drink small amount of alchol, it makes driver sleepy and difficult to concentrate thier driving.

This behavior not only injure themselves but also threaten others.

Especially Korean are not afraid of drunk driving.

"Korea's national stratistics office estimates more than a thousand koreans die every year in drinkrelated driving accidents".

refer to this article, the rate of drunk driving is higher than another countries.

Questions:
1. Do you feel safe in Korea? why and why not?
2. What is the way to solve this problem? (Insensitive to safety)
